With the transfer window closed, we look at the team starting to take shape under Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte and examine Tottenham Hotspur’s roster.

Tottenham Hotspur was not a deep team to start the season and was even less so following a coaching change that brought a new system to the club. It has been the stated goal of coach Conte to have two players at each position, which Spurs are getting closer to with some solid transfers completed. So what kind of depth does Tottenham have for the rest of the season?

Spurs are set at goalkeeper, sort of

On paper, the Tottenham goalkeeper room is one of the deeper positions in the squad. There are technically four senior keepers – Hugo Lloris, Pierluigi Gollini, Brandon Austin, and  Alfie Whiteman.

The team had been carrying three keepers, but Whiteman returned from a loan in January, pushing the number up to 4. The only player with a certain future is Lloris, who signed a contract extension during the window. The lack of a natural succession plan is significant as Gollini has not looked great since coming over from Atalanta on loan in the summer. Neither Austin nor Whiteman have real experience.

This lack of any real plan behind Lloris at current creates question marks about the goalkeeper situation. However, with Lloris signed for two more seasons, it should not be an issue to address in the immediate future, and Tottenham should be okay.
