Two Tottenham Hotspur players finally on the move out on loan
By Aaron Coe
As the winter transfer window gets closer to closing shut, Tottenham Hotspur looks to finally be offloading some players from a tired squad with two loan moves.
It has taken several starts and stops and twists and turns to get to this point but it appears that both Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso may be heading away from N17 on loan. Tottenham has been in conversation with several clubs about both players, with the desires of the two men making a deal more difficult than it should be.
Just a few days ago it looked like Lo Celso was going to Lyon in France while Ndombele would take the trip across the channel to Paris and PSG. Unfortunately, neither move seems to be moving forward as PSG could not make room in their squad for Ndombele and Lo Celso did not want to go to France.
Fortunately, Spurs hierarchy has not stopped looking for moves for the two men, with it looking like both now may be on the way out.
With Lo Celso not interested in Lyon, the French club turned their sights to their former player Ndombele. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is not in the final stages between Tottenham and Lyon, with the French club holding an option to purchase Ndombele.
With Lyon now seemingly taken care of in the move for Ndombele, Spurs attention is back on moving Lo Celso. It seems the most likely destination at this point for the Argentine is in Spain where Villarreal seems a real possibility.
The situation still seems fluid but Lo Celso has apparently signed off on the move and both clubs seem intent on getting the deal done making it a real possibility for all parties.
Presumably, the move of both Lo Celso and Ndombele opens the space in the team for the signings of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus. Whether these are Spurs only moves remain to be seen but if all four are done it is a decent bit of business for the club.
