Fabio Paratici has been working tirelessly to finalize some late moves, one of which, Rodrigo Bentancur to join Tottenham from Juventus, has been confirmed.

What a whirlwind 24 hours, first with the completion of Dejan Kulusevski and now the addition of the a second Old Lady player, the 24-year-old Uruguayan.

The best part about this deal is its permanent nature. It’s not a loan deal like the Kulusevski arrangement (though that deal also has a to-buy clause).

When you get Fabrizio’s stamp of approval, you know it’s a done deal. As good as gold are his confirmations, so expect Bentancur to be arriving prior to Tottenham’s next match, an exciting prospect for supporters and teammates alike.

The news was confirmed a few hours ago in what can only be described as a frantic last couple of days for Tottenham’s transfer activities. Paratici and company will state they’ve had things under control, as the Italian has experience with numerous last-minute deals. However, even Paratici has never had this many irons in the fire in the last two days of any transfer period.

Spurs ended up paying €19 million plus €6 million in add ons to land Bentancur, who has made 19 Serie A appearances this season with Juventus. The Uruguayan will join Pierre Hojbjerg, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp in the heart of midfield, further reinforcing that area of the park for Spurs.

Antonio Conte has always been steadfast on having two seasoned, accomplished players at each position, which he believes will provide Tottenham with the depth they need to qualify for the Champions League, a vital step in propelling the club to elite status.

dark. Next. Recent failed transfers were years in the making

Juventus needed to recoup some of the €75 million they shelled out on striker Dusan Vlahovic. They’ve recouped more than half of that after Tottenham took both Bentancur and Kulusevski.
