Paratici’s relationship with Juventus starting to bear fruit at Tottenham

Tottenham submit bid, confident of signing Rodrigo Bentancur

Paratici is concurrently working on another deal with his former club and is making headway in the Rodrigo Bentancur negotiations.

While it’s unknown whether Juventus will be convinced by Tottenham’s €19 million, €6 million add-on bid, the Old Lady is highly motivated to send Bentancur to north London. Juventus already has Denis Zakaria waiting in the wings, ready to secure his signature the moment Bentancur becomes a Tottenham player.

Juventus are prepared to sign Denis Zakaria immediately once Bentancur will leave.

Juventus is also eager to recoup a portion of the €75 million they shelled out on Dusan Vlahovic. The “cash-strapped” Italian juggernaut managed to strike the deal for Vlahovic after a concerted capital raise effort, thereby allocating over €80 million to transfer market operations over the next three years.

Now, after spending almost every penny on the Serbian superstar, it’s time for the Old Lady to recoup some of her retirement funds.

We’ll probably know tomorrow whether Juventus is content with Spurs’ offer. And if they’re not, Tottenham will have just over 24 hours to counter and finalize the deal, which, based on Paratici’s deadline day experience, should be more than enough time.

Both of these transfers, one confirmed and one in process, were in large part made possible by Paratici’s longstanding relationship with his former club. His ingrained connections and continued relationships in Turin presented Spurs’ director of football with the inside track. Only time will tell if Bentancur is Tottenham-bound and whether Kulusevski flourishes in the capital.

But at least Tottenham, thanks to Paratici’s deep-rooted connections, are making some transfer headway. These developments won’t be enough to turn this into a successful transfer period for Spurs, but they should still be interpreted as a promising stepping stone.
