The news everyone has been waiting for at Tottenham, as all all signs point to Hugo Lloris staying at the club until 2024.

What a day for Tottenham. Add the breaking news of Lloris’ contract extension to the elation of last night’s epic comeback victory and you have yourself a sensational 24 hours.

The main transfer man, Fabrizio Romano, tweeted just over an hour ago that Lloris and Tottenham have reached an agreement to keep him at the club until the end of the 2024 season. He will be 37 years old when he departs Hotspur Way. If that’s not news to rejoice, I’m not sure what is.

The legendary Spurs keeper has played exquisitely this season, proving to everyone that keeper’s of his stature and pedigree age like a high-quality pair of jeans. The club hasn’t yet made the official announcement, but should break the joyous news tomorrow at some point.

We know it’s happening, though, as Romano has spoken. When Romano confirms news of this magnitude, you can all but bet your house on it. If only I had a house to bet.

When Lloris completes his contract extension, he’ll be set to potentially play one final year with his hometown club Nice before setting up camp with a cocktail in hand on the beautiful beaches of France.

Next. Three positives from thrilling win over Leicester that bode well. dark

In the meantime, Lloris will continuously do Tottenham proud, showcasing his imperious stature as one of the world’s best keepers.
