Tottenham Hotspur are tracking the progress of young phenom Mitchel Frame, who is currently a member of Celtic’s Under-17 side.

Crystal Palace and Wolves are also interested in Frame’s development, though Spurs have the upper hand due to Antonio Conte’s persona and the north London club’s higher profile. Frame is still only 16 years old, so this would most certainly be a move for the distant future.

While Frame is excelling in Scotland, it’s almost impossible to surmise whether the youngster is going to have what it takes to one day be good enough for the the Premier League. Spurs have more important and immediate concerns on the agenda, but it’s always important to hand-pick the best youth from across the continent.

In recent years, Spurs have failed to develop young stars through the ranks. Very rarely has a young talent full of potential impacted proceedings at a senior level. It’s something Spurs are overtly aware of and will do everything in their power to correct. Hence their attention to a wunderkinds like Frame or Belgian forward Charles De Ketelaere.

Wolves signing opens the door for Tottenham transfer. dark. Next

Frame has been in the Celtic’s academy since he was just eight and is regarded as one of the club’s top prospects, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely the Hoops will be able to hold on to one of the most talented youngsters to come through their ranks in recent memory.
