Three reasons Tottenham should consider signing Christian Eriksen

1. Tottenham’s clear need for a creative playmaker

Spurs have a lot of proficient defensive midfielders, players who protect the back four and solidify the spine of the team. However, there is a palpable absence of creative playmakers who can consistently execute incisive, penetrative passes.

That is quintessential Eriksen. He might not be the most mobile, or the best defensively, but he can certainly pick out a pass to unlock a stubborn rearguard.

Oh, and he’s also excellent from dead-ball situations. Again, that’s something Tottenham direly needs. Conte would certainly have to utilize Eriksen strategically, but there’s discernible benefit in bringing Eriksen back to Tottenham.
