Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Antonio Conte have been nominated for individual Premier League honours for an outstanding December.

It’s always nice to see a story that puts things into perspective, especially the day after a tough-to-swallow loss against Chelsea, one of Tottenham’s most loathed rivals.

On to the good news of the day. Tottenham not only climbed the Premier League table in December thanks to an undefeated month, they also got recognized for exceptional individual performances. It was a month to remember, both for the club and these three individuals.

Sonny for Player of the Month

Sonny, who scored four goals and added two assists, was nominated for December’s Premier League Player of the Month award. The South Korean scored the equalizer to earn Spurs a share of the spoils against Liverpool and added goals against Norwich, Brentford and Crystal Palace. The nomination comes on the back of Sonny winning his fifth consecutive Best Football in Asia award just days ago. Sonny leads Spurs with eight Premier League goals and is, in my humbled opinion, Tottenham’s most valuable player.

The other nominees for the award are João Cancelo, James Maddison, Gabriel Martinelli, Mason Tony Mount, Martin Ødegaard and Raheem Sterling.

Antonio Conte for Manager of the Month

Antonio Conte has been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month in December. The gaffer’s undefeated Premier League start at Spurs continued through December, with Spurs winning four of five in the festive month. Conte’s undefeated run in the Premier League is now at eight matches. Along with Conte, Mikel Arteta and Jürgen Klopp have also been nominated.

Lucas Moura’s Goal of the Month candidate

Lucas Moura has been nominated for December’s Goal of the Month after his wonder strike against Norwich in Tottenham’s 3-0 win. You can watch his strike from every angle here.

The Brazilian showed his class in the lead up to the long-distance missile and is fully deserving of being amongst other nominees for the goal, which could go down as a candidate for Goal of the Season.

You can have a look at all the other nominees and see whether you feel Moura is in with a shot of winning. What are your thoughts on the nominations? Will any of Tottenham’s nominees win?
