2. Lukaku and Harry Kane incompatible

Lukaku will expect to play a primary role in whatever team he lands at. The 28-year-old will not play second fiddle to anyone, which poses a problem at Tottenham. It’s one thing if Kane is sold to Manchester City, making the front role solely Lukaku’s. But Kane’s prospective move is still uncertain, and bringing Lukaku in doesn’t make sense if England’s captain is still in the fold.

The two elite front men wouldn’t make a solid partnership, as both players are alpha strikers who play better as the lone forward. It doesn’t feel, if a second striker is brought into the fold, these two would be complement each other well.

While Lukaku is more of a power front man, both players share similarities and wouldn’t gel in each other’s company. Buying Lukaku would send a clear message that would not sit well with Kane, almost forcing the to depart Tottenham. And who wants their primary striker to be a man who might quit, up and leave without a moment’s notice?
