Three main signs of progress in Tottenham draw against Liverpool

After an adverse, testing couple of weeks, Tottenham put forth a performance they can be proud of, showing palpable progress under Antonio Conte’s stewardship. 

Today’s 2-2 draw with one of the country’s best will inject added confidence into Tottenham’s camp. If you look at the overall balance of play, Spurs will feel aggrieved not to have taken all three points. Conte’s men, primarily the front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli, missed a handful of golden opportunities.

Tottenham will rue their missed opportunities and reflect on what could have been, but take nothing away from a solid, enterprising performance that showed just how far the side has progressed since Conte took the helm just over six weeks ago.

Still unbeaten as Tottenham’s manager, Conte has led his new side to three wins and two draws. Today marked the first time Conte pitted his wits against one of the Premier League’s best teams and managers since moving to north London, and, while disappointed about the nature of the result, should be proud of how far Spurs have advanced in a relatively short period.
