Tottenham Hotspur was simply the better team in most phases of the match Thursday against Brentford, however, three things stood out in the win.

Son was again shining for Spurs

With so much focus on Harry Kane, just how well – or not – Tottenham’s other talisman has been doing has gone a bit under the radar. On Thursday, we all got a chance to see just how dynamic Heung-min Son can be under Conte.

Back to his best, which is attacking players on the dribble, Son was aggressive with the ball and hit several good balls into the box. Not the least of which was on Spurs opener, which was an own goal caused by Son’s cross and some Ben Davies moxie.

On the second goal, Sonny showed a bit of everything that makes him great. He played a nice layoff to Harry Kane and then immediately turned and sprinted toward the goal. Son was behind multiple defenders but split them in the box as he ran perfectly onto Reguilón’s ball for as easy of a goal as he will ever score. But that easy goal was set up by a nice touch and some hard work to be in position.

Besides Son’s magnificence, here are two more reasons Tottenham topped Brentford.
