Full Tottenham XI and substitutes bench

Conte sticks with his preferred formation although how many play high versus drop deep from the front three will continue to morph throughout the match.  With a defence that is becoming more accustomed to the system and players hopefully growing more familiar with the expected runs and movements, Spurs should be getting better.

Available Tottenham substitutes

Without Lo Celso, Romero, or Dane Scarlett, most of the available players make the squad. However, if Steven Bergwijn is back from his – fortunate for him – illness midweek, either he or some player who did not shine Thursday will be left out. Odds are that player will be one of Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, or Matt Doherty; although depth or lack thereof means all three may be needed.

Our thoughts are Gollini, Sanchez, and Joe Rodon to back up the defence. There is Matt Doherty, Ryan Sessegnon, and Oliver Skipp as support in the midfield and for the wingbacks, and then Dele Alli, Bryan Gil, and a returning Steven Bergwijn take up the last three spots, leaving Ndombele odd man out.

Spurs XI: Lloris – Davies – Dier – Tanganga – Reguilón – Winks Højbjerg – Royal – Son – Kane – Moura

Spurs substitutes: Gollini – Sanchez – Rodon – Doherty – Sessegnon – Dele – Skipp – Gill – Bergwijn
