Three reasons poor first half vs Leeds will benefit Tottenham

There’s no sugar coating the abysmal nature of the first half performance against Leeds, but Tottenham can use the experience as a benchmark to improve from. 

The train wreck we witnessed in the first half was hard to watch. The negativity, both in the stadium and on social media, was as definitive as it was deserved. Nothing about that first half was good enough for a team with aspirations of returning to the Promise Land.

After an extended international break, it was never going to be easy for Antonio Conte to get his side playing in a fluid, cohesive manner. All of his most integral players were away with their respective countries, posing numerous challenges for Tottenham’s new boss.

While almost impossible not to burst into a rant chockfull of expletives, that abhorrent first half against Leeds will serve Conte and his Spurs well. And here’s why:
