Defence

Hugo Lloris 8/10

Hugo Lloris was on full alert, almost playing a quasi sweeper role. He came off his line quickly to clear from danger multiple times. Got the slightest of touches to thwart Richarlison on what the locals thought was penalty. It was clearly a perfect challenge.

Ben Davies 8/10

Had his best match of the season. Ben Davies made a few excellent covering challenges and also offered an option when Spurs marauded forward. He was calm in possession, too. The Welshman, with some full-blooded tackles, wants to show his new manager he deserves to start regularly. Davies was a bit late on a few challenges, either showing some fatigue or being just slightly too slow off the mark.

Eric Dier 8/10

Eric Dier had a solid outing as the marshal at the back. Much improved from his midweek performance, Dier snuffed out the danger presented by Richarlison. In the rare occasion Dier was pulled slightly out of position, Davies was there for cover.

Christian Romero 7/10

Had an epic battle with fellow South American Richarlison. Romero had trouble finding the mark with his long-range passing but was solid defensively.
