Tottenham player ratings in scoreless draw at Everton

Tottenham, in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League match in charge, showed substantially improved commitment but lacked quality in a hard-fought scoreless draw against Everton.  

Nobody can fault Spurs’ effort at Goodison. There was a palpable difference in overall work rate compared to the tragic Manchester United defeat. However, Spurs still weren’t able to register one shot on target. Spurs have failed to tally a shot on target in almost four hours of Premier League action.

That must be a foreboding stat for Conte, who has his work cut out for him once his players return from international break. Promisingly, Spurs were excellent defensively, and for the first time in recent memory didn’t commit a cardinal error at the back.
