Tottenham Midfield Ratings

Tottenham was better in the midfield than they were on Thursday but that is not saying much. While individually none of the three midfielders played particularly bad, they were not on the same page and there was just a little connection between the group.

Oliver Skipp – 6

Oliver Skipp did his job on the day, keeping the play in front of him and working to recycle the ball. Skippy had a couple of little jaunts forward but didn’t do anything particularly effective with the ball in those times. Always available but just not enough going forward on the afternoon.

Pierre Hojbjerg – 6.5

Pierre Hojbjerg had an uneven game for Tottenham Hotspur. Hojbjerg had possession more than any other player on the pitch but did very little with that possession. His passing was tidy but Spurs need more than tidy from Hojbjerg. Despite having 109 touches, most of any player Hojbjerg did not have one-touch within 30 yards of the goal, showing just how insignificant his contributions were.

Tanguy Ndombele – 5.5

On a day where a lot of Tottenham players were not good, Tanguy Ndombele was one of the worst. Ndombele clearly has talent and is able to make a good pass here and there but his effort is inconsistent at best and having him and Kane as the two players in the middle of the pitch is like having two cones set up for the other team to pass around. It is difficult to say who plays slower, Ndombele or Dele but one thing is certain, neither is going to help this team win consistently.
