Full Tottenham XI and the Big Bench

Tottenham has a relatively strong XI that is similar to some of the early teams before Kane returned but buoyed by the defensive additions to the side.

The one thing about Europe is you can bring everyone on the bench as teams are allowed to name up to 12 players on their backup list.

What we have been seeing from Nuno Santo with the big benches is a mix between academy players and some of the veterans to provide real depth. Expect that to continue Thursday with likely both Hugo Lloris and Brandon Austin to be on the bench as one example.

The bench is likely to be heavy on defenders, given the players available and the squad balance. Besides two goalkeepers, there will likely be two right-backs with Emerson Royal and Japhet Tanganga both available and an extra left-back in Sergio Reguilon. Spurs will likely also have three center-back with Davinson Sanchez joined by academy player Tobi Omole.

With so many extra defenders, the midfielders and attackers will be limited, with Dele, Harry Winks, Harry Kane, Tanguy Ndomble, and Dane Scarlett having to do.

Starting XI

Gollini, Davies, Rodon, Romero, Doherty, Skipp, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Gil, Son, Moura

Substitutes

Lloris, Austin, Omole, Reguiilon, Tanganga, Sanchez, Royal, Dele, Winks, Ndombele, Kane, Scarlett
