Report: Tottenham Conference League Playoff to be Streamed in US
By Aaron Coe
After not being available for viewing in the USA last week, Paramount+ will be streaming the second leg of Tottenham Hotspur versus Paços de Ferriera in the Europa Conference League match.
In the sports viewing marketplace there are a lot of vendors today. Many of us align our subscriptions to the various services based on who is going to carry which sports and leagues of our choosing. Such is the case in the US for Paramount+, where I can stream UEFA competitions like the Europa Conference League.
When the service that is supposed to offer your game does not, it can be heartbreaking. But sometimes you see highlights after and wonder if you might have actually received a gift. Regardless, while Tottenham versus Paços was not available in the US last week it will this week, with the crucial second leg coming.
There were games available last week
It is not like Paramount+ did not offer any Conference League matches in the US. Basel 1893 hosted Hammarby and then KuPS Kuopio hosted Union Berlin. Although Roma and Tottenham were both playing neither received any coverage and we got those other two games instead. In fairness, Union Berlin joined in this round just as Tottenham and Roma did, however, Basel and Hammarby have both advanced through qualifying.
In any case, what is important now, is that it appears that Tottenham will be shown in the US this week. According to World Soccer Talk, the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Paços de Ferreira will air starting at 2:45 EDT in the US on Paramount+.
Tottenham on just not yet listed
If you are a subscriber to Paramount+ and you are like me, you likely logged in immediately to see this information for yourself on the Conference League homepage for the service. Unfortunately, as of this writing, the broadcast schedule has not yet been updated. World Soccer Talk addressed this in the Twitter thread noting they are often simply faster and accurate than the broadcaster’s page.
What I can confirm is that I can see Copenhagen vs Sivasspor scheduled but nothing after. That said, they did show two matches last week, so it does lead you to believe this would be the case. Further, for an organization like World Soccer Talk to say it is going to be aired, they have to feel pretty confident about it.
Here is to hoping World Soccer Talk is right and those of us in the US can actually watch the match. Besides with a solid performance and a win, it is like last week’s stinker does not even exist.
