Tottenham Loan Decision – Dane Scarlett

Tottenham has some promising young talent in players like John and Skipp, however, likely the most promising player in the entire academy is Dane Scarlett. Scarlett, who is just 17-years-old, also made his debut last season for Tottenham under Jose Mourinho. Scarlett received three cameo appearances with the senior team.

He did manage an assist in his 17 minutes between two games in the Europa League. However, his Premier League appearance was so short he did not officially log a minute just an appearance.

Like John, most of Scarlett’s experience comes in Premier League 2 and the U18 Premier League, however, neither league is really appropriate for Scarlett at this point in his development. The young English forward scored 21 goals across 25 games in those two leagues averaging a goal every 85 minutes.

Scarlett the best of the Tottenham youth

Of course, playing for the senior team is not the same but we have seen in preseason that Scarlett truly is special and could be a factor this season. Assuming Harry Kane stays, we will see a bunch of Scarlett in the Conference League if Kane is sold we could see a lot more. With energy and speed to burn, an eye for goal, and an understanding of the game beyond his years, Scarlett could be more than a bit player for Spurs this season.

There is no guarantee but outside of Oliver Skipp, Scarlett is probably the most likely of the players we have covered to make an impact on Tottenham this season. How big that impact is and what it means remains to be seen. The one thing we do know is whatever we see from Scarlett will be in a Tottenham shirt this year.
