Latest Tottenham manager rumor finally has fan base united
By Aaron Coe
After yet another coach destined to take the reigns at N17 fell out at the last hurdle, the one positive is that the latest managerial rumor has united the Tottenham fanbase.
Tottenham fans have very much been divided since the day Daniel Levy hired Jose Mourinho. With Gennaro Gattuso rumored as being now in the frame as the next coach Levy, Paratici, and company finally have the fan base united. Unfortunately, for the club, the unification is against the idea of appointing Gattuso as the next gaffer.
Gattuso upsetting too many Tottenham fans
Without even getting into the footballing aspects of the manager, for many in the fanbase, Gattuso is simply a no-go for his past, which includes among other things statements that denigrate women and homosexuals.
The club works far too hard in too many venues related to LGBTQ rights as well as in the women’s game to take what could even be perceived as a step back in this regard. Regardless of what the man does or does not believe now, his past is something many will simply not overlook.
Currently, #NotoGattuso is trending on Twitter and this is not a good look for Tottenham, especially with all the Spurs DNA talk. None other than Ali Gold is questioning the management thinking once again.

The bad news for Tottenham is things are progressing
According to the most recent report from Fabrizio Romano, things are progressing and the meeting between Gattuso and the board was positive.

The good news is that Romano said nothing has been signed and ideally nothing will. Again, regardless of footballing tactics, the last thing the club needs is another divisive coach. Spurs need someone the players and fans alike can get behind and if you have lost the fans before step 1, you have little chance of success.
The best news about this is that it is what it is, just another rumor. If we all had a dollar for every time Romano has named a frontrunner in the Tottenham managerial pursuit, we could have ourselves a nice dinner. Hopefully, like the dozen or so previous managerial rumors, this one too will come and go as we continue the long, lonely search, for Tottenham’s next manager.
