Three silver linings in latest Tottenham Hotspur misstep
By Gary Pearson
1. Mauricio Pochettino back in the mix?
Come hell or high water, Levy must do everything in his power to try and secure Pochettino’s services. While even more of an uphill battle after things unravelled with Conte, it’s incumbent upon Levy to pay PSG whatever they demand to release the Argentine from his commitments in the French capital.
Nobody knows whether Pochettino will be annoyed by Tottenham’s clear decision to prioritize Conte. Knowing Pochettino like we do, one can only assume he knows the pursuit of Conte was a business decision.
So no hard feelings, right?
Well, I’m not too sure if Pochettino will feel the same as it’s not the first time he’s been slighted or shunned by the north London club. However, Spurs’ decision to go Conte hunting also had a lot to do with PSG’s steadfast refusal to release Pochettino from his duties after only five months in charge.
Regardless, Spurs supporters won’t hold their collective breath, as we’ve endured enough bitter disappointment this season alone to last a lifetime.
