Three positives for Tottenham Hotspur from loss to Aston Villa

Stevie Bergwijn back for Spurs
Another bright spot in the match on Wednesday was the return of Steven Bergwijn. After a splash in his early Spurs career less than 18 months ago, Bergwijn had fallen on tough times this season. Stevie has been a willing runner all season long and was in and out of the line-up early for Tottenham.
However, it was a couple of big misses against Liverpool that began to really cost Bergwijn his place in the squad. Those misses were indicative of his season for the most part where he is getting the ball in good places, he is just unable to finish from there.
On Wednesday, things fell into place for the Dutchman and he scored a goal somewhat similar to a blast he put by Manchester United last season. The raw power of both Bergwijn and his shot was incredible as he shrugged off a couple of tough challenges and unleashed a beauty of a half-volley.
Bergwijn had the best chances on the evening for Tottenham in the second half as well and was unlucky to have two decent efforts go right at the keeper. Hitting the target is step one and after missing the target much of the season, on the frame is what Bergwin was looking for.
At still only 23 years of age, Bergwijn is one of the younger players in the first team and hopefully can build off of the goal and positive performance heading into the offseason.
