Harry Kane and Gareth Bale were the headline act in Tottenham’s 4-1 win, the dynamic duo showcasing their otherworldly talent against Palace.

It was the kind of theatre we all anticipated when Bale signed on loan from Madrid. And while it took seven months to foster, it manifested precisely the way millions of Tottenham supporters envisioned.

Kane added two more assists to his league-leading tally, and now has 13 helpers. Bale, the sole beneficiary of Kane’s unselfish creativity, bagged a brace to emphatically reemphasize his recent resurgence.

The Welshman showed desire and commitment on his second goal. He threatened throughout, hitting numerous incisive passes all over the park. Bale was also dangerous on the dribble, making yet another statement that he is back to his unparalleled best.

Bale’s performance was matched only by his talisman’s display of rarified brilliance. Kane also bagged a brace, the first of which will assuredly take goal of the season honours. Tottenham’s talisman finished immaculately from long range, bombing a whipped shot into the opposite top corner while running away from goal.

Only a handful of players in world football can pull off that skill at high speed.

Next. Three positives from Spurs' win over Fulham. dark

It was a truly remarkable skill that reinforced Tottenham’s offensive dominance, their prowess putting the rest of the top flight on notice.

Erik Lamela played well after coming on for Bale, the Argentinian contributing to Kane’s second. Lamela dinked a stunning through ball to Son Heung-min, who despite struggling with his finishing touch of late, played a sublime one-time volley pass over to Kane, who was left with the easiest of finishes.

Now Tottenham turn to the Europa League, where they face Dynamo Kiev in the round of 16 clash. With the win, Tottenham climbed to within two points of fourth place Chelsea.
