Sunday afternoon Burnley travel to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face Spurs with both teams fighting for position in the Premier League. A good run of form has seen Burnley bounce a few rungs above the relegation zone. A bad run of form has seen Tottenham Hotspur drop several spots from the first place position Spurs once held.  With two solid defensive teams fighting for position in the Premier League almost anything can happen. Further with Sean Dyche facing José Mourinho it should be a real show.

Beer, Chips, and Stunning Steve Austin

I am not sure which came first, Sean Dyche the funny man or the recent run of form for Burnley, either way both are worthy of not. First Dyche was remarking on his resemblance to professional wrestler “Stunning” Steve Austin. Then this past week, Nick Pope, Burnley’s number one keeper was rumored to be a target for Tottenham.

Jokingly, Dyche talked about being willing to trade Pope for some time at the pub, a beer, and chips. Of course the dense journalists did not realize it was remark on the the current social environment.

Likewise, it was about as likely Dyche get to go to the pub and have his drink as it is he talks about selling Nick Pope. Let alone talk about selling Nick Pope to Tottenham just days before they play. Hence the line about trying to hang on to Popey as best he can.

The point is, Dyche, like his team is focused on football and playing Tottenham, not the summer transfer window. While a some crisps or chips and a couple pints of lager in the visitors dressing room would be a nice touch, Nick Pope is not changing sides. So besides Nick Pope playing goalkeeper for Burnley, Hugo Lloris playing keeper for Tottenham, and Sean Dyche drinking a beer after the match, what can we expect in the game?
