Tottenham Hotspur did most of what they set out to do in their initial match versus Wolfsberger, taking a commanding 3 goal lead back to London. As Spurs prepare to host Wolfsberger in the second leg at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium things are a bit uneasy around Hotspur Ways as the club has struggled for form in the domestic league.

Europa League has been a bit different as Tottenham look to continue advancing in a competition they have an outside chance of winning. So what can we expect as we look ahead to the second match between Wolfsberger and Tottenham.

Different Moment Different Match for Wolfsberger

In the initial preview of the first leg of this contest, we built up Wolfsberger a little bit as they have won some big matches both home and especially on the road ask RB Salzburg. However, we also asked if the moment might be too much for the the Austrians and at times it really was last week.

Through no fault of their own Wolfsberger had to play their home leg on the road in Hungary at a neutral site. The lack of any real homefield advantage combined with facing an English team in a knockout competition for the first time was all too much for the Austrians.

Wolfsberger were by no means overwhelmed and had chances but they also conceded easier than they would have liked and did not finish as they could. Now, already down three goals, playing on house money in one of the largest nicest stadiums in the world, Wolfsberger has nothing to lose. When a team has nothing to lose, they can play very well. If anyone things these guys are just going to role over because of a big empty south stand, think again.
