Tottenham Hotspur travel to Everton this evening with a spot in the FA Cup quarterfinal up for grabs.

Jose Mourinho, who’s thirsty to bring FA Cup glory to Tottenham, will start his strongest possible 11 against the Toffees. However, he must keep the Manchester City match in mind, as Spurs can ill-afford to play a weakened squad against the country’s in-form side.

It will be interesting to see if Jose risks starting Harry Kane, who returned on Sunday after a two match injury respite. While Kane is obviously fully fit, three matches in a six-day span would be asking a lot of his weakened ankles, possibly even flirting with disaster.

Personally, I would save Kane for City on Saturday, allowing Carlos another crack as the lone striker. Here’s how Jose should start in Merseyside on Wednesday evening.

Defence

Joe Hart, who has played throughout the competition, should continue in goal, while Matt Doherty and Ben Davies will employ their usual positions. Eric Dier and Joe Rodon will be provided another opportunity after respective dubious performances. Dier has a lot to prove after disappointing in recent weeks.

Though I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the two make way for Toby Alderweireld, who acts as a calming force.
