Despite not starting and only playing 25 minutes there is no doubting who the star of the game was for Tottenham in the victory over Wycombe, Tanguy Ndombele. Tanguy Ndombele led a Tottenham comeback the pushed Spurs through to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup, scoring two goals in less than 30 minutes. Such was the impact of Ndombele and Spurs bench as Tottenham changed the game in the second half and made sure they left winners.

Tanguy Ndombele Best Player

Tanguy Ndombele only played 25 minutes and even in those 25 minutes he only had 16 touches and 12 passes of the ball. Considering Tottenham had some 740 touches as a team, those 16 times Tanguy’s laces hit the ball it must have been something and it certainly way.

From the moment he stepped on the pitch Tanguy Ndombele was the best player on it. Tanguy’s very first touch – capturing a long ball over his shoulder with immaculate control – told us the Frenchman came to play. Although that cross field pass was blocked very little else did not come off for the attacking midfielder.

Ndombele was high up the pitch and it paid dividends as he was working to create opportunities. Just before Spurs scored, it was Ndombele who played a beautiful ball in to Harry Kane for the opportunity that forced Allsop off his line. It was ultimately Tanguy Ndombele who then finished the match scoring two late goals to ice the game.

Tanguy Ndombele So Much with So Little

Ndombele only had the sixteen touches, but he had three shots and two key passes in those 16 touches demonstrating just how influential he can be on a game. While in the perfect world, Ndombele along with Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane would have all stayed on the bench, but it is what it is and when called upon Ndombele was ready. Ndombele changed the game for Spurs and was again our start.
