Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp again logged some good minutes during the midweek Championship action as both players started on loan from Tottenham.

For a loan to work, a player must play. For future Tottenham stars, the minutes are starting to really pile up, as both Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp again started out on loan. Skipp gave his usual 90 minutes and for Parrott 74 minutes is a new career high, so how did Oliver and Troy do?

Troy is Trying

Troy Parrott has worked his way back from a rather significant ankle injury and has been getting solid minutes at Millwall over the last month, since making his first start. He started on Tuesday against QPR and was the main center striker. Parrott had been logging minutes out as the left wing or left forward, but against QPR he was the main target main.

While Parrott did not find the back of the net, it was not from a lack of trying. Troy led all players with five shots, getting two on target and having two more blocked. However, for much of the match Parrott was relatively isolated, as he continues to learn when to drop and when to stay up. The minutes are starting to add up, as Troy now has over 300 minutes with Millwall, after his 74 in the 1-1 draw with QPR.

Skipp Steals the Show?

Okay, some fans seem to be getting a tad bit salty about the fact that now for the third time this season Oliver Skipp has been voted as Man of the Match. It is not so much that Skipp did not play well, by all accounts he was solid. It is also not that people do not like Skipp, but apparently it is ‘weird’ for one team – Tottenham – to have fans voting on another team’s Man of the Match.

Honestly, we have no idea who is doing all the voting for Skippy during these polls, but his agent probably should send them a thank you card, as Oliver continues to help his value with his solid play. Skipp was all over the park, taking a shot, making a clearance, an interception, and winning two tackles, all while completing 87% of some 62 passes. Skippy threw in a yellow card for good measure as Norwich got back to their winning ways with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

After logging another 90 minutes, Skipp now has some 1467 minutes this season, compared to 105 in all competitions last season for Spurs senior team. Talk about opportunity! Both Parrott and Skipp should be back in action on Saturday as Norwich travels to Blackburn and Millwall goes to Middlesbrough.
