Tottenham officially announce Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon signings
Tottenham have announced the signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.
It’s official.
After rumors all week long, Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
Yes, you read that right. Bale is coming home.
It’s a picture many of us never thought we’d ever see, Bale back at Hotspur Way holding up a Tottenham shirt.
Speaking in his first interview since re-signing with Spurs which was published on the team’s Twitter account, Bale said that he feels he’s gained a “winning mentality” from his time at Real Madrid, and his ambition is to now help Tottenham go to the next level and win trophies.
What makes this even better? Bale isn’t the only new signing from Real Madrid.
Sergio Reguilon an upgrade for Tottenham at left back
Even if left back wasn’t one of Tottenham’s biggest concerns entering the season, they’ve taken the opportunity to upgrade the position. Reguilon joins Bale from Madrid and is an exciting signing.
Reguilon is an attack-minded fullback who will create chances down the left side. A combination of Reguilon and Son Heung-min will be tough for defenses to stop.
With both Bale and Reguilon signing, this feels like one of the most important pieces of business for Tottenham in the transfer window for quite some time. Both of these players can help take this club to the next level, back into the Champions League and competing for trophies.
According to Alasdair Gold of football.london, Bale joins on a season-long loan but there is the option for a second season.
According to Sky Sports, Reguilon has signed a five-year deal. The transfer fee could rise to £35 million.
Tottenham have now signed five players in this transfer window. With the double-signing from Real Madrid, Spurs can take the next step forward.
