But Spurs should have no problem advancing to the group stage and will likely enter the competition as one of the favorites to win it.

Not many coaches can match Mourinho’s record of success. He was a Europa League winner with Manchester United in the 2016-17 season. Mourinho knows how to win, and he also understands the importance of Tottenham winning a trophy. He’ll take this tournament seriously and will be in it to win it.

Tottenham will be hoping their absence from the Champions League is short-lived, but an added bonus of winning the Europa League is that the winning team qualifies for the Champions League the following season.
