Defence

Hugo Lloris 6/10

Hugo was under constant pressure in the first half, but wasn’t forced into too many difficult saves. He should have held on to the original shot which led to Burnley’s opener. Chris Wood pounced on the rebound to lash home. While the original shot was struck with venom, a keeper of Lloris’ capability is expected to corral safely. The Frenchman made a huge save in the 84th minute off of Matej Vydra’s boot.

Toby Alderweireld 6.5/10

Toby was stable if not fantastic. He didn’t make any glaring mistakes. While he was a bit slow to react on Wood’s opener, the Belgian wasn’t overawed at any other point in the match.

Eric Dier 6/10

Another Tottenham player who struggled mightily in the first half, Eric Dier improved significantly when shifted into midfield after the break. He made a potentially game saving tackle and held his own in the centre of the park. His ill-placed clearing header led to Burnley’s goal, but the Englishman settled down after the incident.

Davinson Sanchez 3.5/10

The Colombian endured another difficult outing. He was unable to stifle Burnley and had all sorts of difficulty on the ball. Inconsistency and erratic moments have plagued his performances since joining the club. Another feeble attempt at a headed clearance late in the second half forced Lloris into an excellent save.
