Tottenham have no time to lick their wounds as they prepare for a pivotal battle with Chelsea, who are just a point ahead in the race for the top four.

Team update

Nothing has changed after the midweek clash with Leipzig. Players are undoubtedly banged up and tired, but no further injuries have occurred. Son, Kane, Michel Vorm and Moussa Sissoko are all unavailable for selection.

Starting 11

Mourinho’s experiment with Lucas Moura as the lone front man has failed miserably. Moura looks a shadow of himself up front and needs to run at players to be at his best. It’s time for Moura to have a rest. He looked tired against Leipzig and was largely ineffective.

That means starting Steven Bergwijn up front with Dele Alli, who endured a woeful outing against Leipzig, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso in support. Dele is provided a chance to redeem himself. He has enjoyed some of his best matches against the Blues, and will be looking to find his lost form.

If Moura starts, Lo Celso will drop back into the heart of midfield, sacrificing Tanguy Ndombele. But Tanguy, based on his cameo midweek, deserves a start.

Harry Winks retains his spot in midfield while Ben Davies gets a rest after a tough day at the office on Wednesday. He cannot play two matches of this rigorous, demanding nature in a row after such a long time out. Hopefully Mourinho doesn’t set Davies up to fail.

Give the Welshman a rest, Jose. Please.
