Tottenham are back to work as they prepare to travel to the midlands to face Aston Villa on Sunday, a must win for the away side to stay in touch with Chelsea.

Premier League action for Spurs is finally back, and the anticipation is ramping up prior to Sunday’s test with one of this season’s relegation favourites. Who will start and what will Spurs lineup look like come Sunday afternoon?

Team update

Giovani Lo Celso’s status is still questionable. He didn’t play in the side’s last match after taking a knock but should be ready to go after enjoying an extended period of respite. Ben Davies is available for selection, extremely exciting news. Tanguy Ndombele is also fit. Spurs are making great progress on the injury front, with only Michel Vorm, Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko on the long-term list. And Sissoko is making great strides in his recovery, as he has shown on Instagram of late.

Starting 11 for Villa

Steven Bergwijn starts as the lone front man, albeit centrally. He might start from the left with Son playing from the middle. Lucas Moura is in his preferred and proven position while Giovani Lo Celso returns after a one-match absence. Hopefully two weeks off was enough for the Argentinian to be raring to go once more.

Harry Winks is the anchor in midfield, responsible for protecting the back four while dispersing the ball with quickness and accuracy. Jan Vertonghen misses out in this one, making way for Davinson Sanchez, who has slightly lost his way under Jose Mourinho. There is a chance Jan will start, but one would think, after Jan’s latest performances, he’d prefer to give the speedy, athletic youngster another shot.

Next. Should Spurs keep any of the three defenders on the chopping block?. dark

Serge Aurier lines up on the right and Ben Davies makes his anticipated return on the left. There is a chance Mourinho will opt for Tanganga, who is fully fit and always exuberant. Though one would think, since Davies has trained for a couple of weeks now, Villa, who are reeling near the bottom of the table, provide the perfect opportunity for the Welshman to get back into the lineup.
