Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Tottenham are once again interested in defensive midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who currently plies his trade with Juventus.

It feel like Rabiot should be about 50 years old based on the amount of successive seasons he’s been linked with a move to Spurs. Yet he’s still only 24 years old.

This rumour is less believable than Harvey Weinstein’s testimony. If you ask Spurs fans whether they want Rabiot to join their beloved team, you’ll hear a resounding no.

As close to a consensus as you’ll get from a gathering of Spurs supporters, Rabiot has only made 10 appearances with Juventus and is already rumoured to want to leave the Old Lady. Expectedly, Juventus has no intention of letting the Frenchman go.

That’s not surprising considering the how long Rabiot has been at Juventus for. It feels like his plane from Paris literally just landed in Turin, such is the brevity of his time with the Italian giants. While a strong, capable defensive midfielder, he’s not right for Spurs. At least we can all agree on that.

Spurs, however, are in the market for a defensive midfielder to help replace the injured Moussa Sissoko. That’s most likely where these rumours launched from. Rabiot will remain at Juventus and the seemingly perpetual link between the Frenchman and Tottenham will have to wait until the summer before they once again rear their ugly head.
