Tottenham, who were shutout by Southampton and lost their talisman Harry Kane to a hamstring strain, started the new year in the worst way possible. 

I’m not going to sugarcoat this one. It was woeful, abject and, frankly, pathetic. Fatigue was obviously a factor but there is no excuse for what transpired at St. Mary’s today. Let’s get straight to the rather predictable, yet anguishing player ratings.
