Believed to have wrapped up the astonishingly wonderful transfer of Tanguy Ndombele, it looks like Tottenham are already making strides this transfer window.  So, who should they sign next?

Tanguy Ndombele is one of the most talented players available this summer.  It is nothing short of a coup if Tottenham confirm the signing, especially for less money than Lyon originally demanded.  It is not too long ago that Ndombele was being discussed with the following teams: Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. That is a wonderful group to have elevated themselves into, which is indicative of how far Spur have come.

Championships are won with a thirst for continuously striving for better.  Adding one single talented player to the side is not enough.  More talent keeps the players from getting complacent and keeps them yearning for more.

That is why Tottenham should add Giovani Lo Celso as soon as possible, and follow that,  Paulo Dybala, Leonardo Bonucci.  Some of those will obviously be easier than others and faster to accomplish, yet each would bring something useful to the team.

Tottenham should be chasing the Premier League title next year.  They should be the team from London who makes the biggest push to dethrone Manchester City.  They have the best manager, the best squad, the best stadium and the most momentum.  Chelsea are, for essentially the third time in four years, starting from scratch.  Arsenal are filling the coffers of Kroenke.

It is Tottenham’s time and they need to press to make a difference.  Winning isn’t about patience all the time.  When the moment is there, you have to take your chance.  You need to try and do everything you can to get over the line. But when has the time been better for Tottenham than now?  When have they had a manager this good? A homegrown core this talented?  A group so united and willing to play for the badge, one another and the supporters?

There’s likely not a single supporter who wouldn’t take a year of debt for the title.  It’s all well and good that Levy has managed to turn the club into the financial machine he has.  How much he has changed the club in his reign been a remarkable achievement; The next thing that should matter is the accumulation of trophies.  The supporters deserve that, and it should be his and the club’s mission to do just that.  Football is about the support after all.
