Two players who could help Tottenham greatly next season play for French giants Lyon. Is there a way Tottenham can benefit from this?

It can, at times, be easier to make a single deal with one club for multiple players than it is to make multiple deals with different clubs for a single player.  Tottenham have several needs to strengthen their team this summer in order to continue to compete in the Champions League as well, as make up ground in the Premier League.  Two players who could help them address those needs are Nabil Fekir and Tanguy Ndombele.

Nabil Fekir has been for years one of the most talented attacking midfield players in Europe. Yet he has stayed in Lyon due to of a mixture of circumstances.  He could replace the likely outgoing Christian Eriksen.  It is a shame that Fekir has not been able to make an impact on a bigger scale.  Though he’s been steady during his time at a club as proud and historically important as Lyon, it’s important that he moves on soon.  He is among the most talented players in Europe and needs to showcase that talent in a different league.

The other Lyon player of note, whose reputation is making the rounds around Europe, is Tanguy Ndombele. He is one of the most talented players to emerge in his position in over a decade.  For him to possess the motor of Gattuso and the passing ability of Xabi Alonso while all together being his own player makes him a remarkable catch. He’s also expressed interest in playing for Spurs, yet another appealing factor.

Adding Fekir and Ndombele to the side would be one of the best moves Tottenham can make.  It will improve the side and send a statement across Europe.

Tottenham are the next level for Nabil Fekir and Ndombele, and it would be mutually beneficial if the club can make both deals happen this summer.  The players will enjoy the added stability of having a teammate at both club and international level, making the transition to England all the easier. People underestimate how difficult it can be to move from one country to another.

Think of all the undeniably talented players who have failed in England because they underestimated how difficult the transition is.  Angel Di Maria, Adrian Mutu, Juan Sebastian Veron, Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Morientes and Diego Forlan were all undeniably talented players who struggled miserably in the Premier League.

Signing two players who are currently teammates is one excellent way to protect the investment.
