Currently there are rumors abound that Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino is being approached by Juventus to take over their vacant managerial position.  This is bad news for the North London club.

One of the best things about Tottenham Hotspur at the moment is their coach.  He is the reason why they were able to save money for the stadium by not spending any money for an entire season.  He is the reason the squad performs admirably on a regularly. He is the reason that the club is in the Champions League final and have finished in the top four consistently for several years.  Losing Mauricio Pochettino is the absolute worst-case scenario for Spurs this summer.

Tottenham would not be able to replace the Argentine with a coach of his quality, mostly because there aren’t any available managers of his pedigree. The good news is that Pochettino is committed to a long contract, which will make it harder for Juventus to wrestle him away.

More from Tottenham News

During his earlier time at Tottenham he was a highly regarded but still not quite the finished article.  Spurs hadn’t made any long runs in big competitions.  This Champions League run, regardless of whether or not Tottenham win, has placed Pochettino front and center in the minds of many clubs. Spurs supporters have known how good he is for a long time, but now the rest of the footballing world is fully aware of his incredible managerial nous.

Juventus will now pull on Pochettino’s heart strings. He has familial connections to northern Italy, particularly in Piedmont, the Italian state in which Turin and Juventus reside, which could be bad news for the North London club.

It may be impossible keep a manager who wants to leave, which is something only Pochettino knows for certain.  Pochettino is the driving force, the soul, heart and inspiration to Tottenham.  Having a manager who’s mind wonders elsewhere can be extremely detrimental to a football side. Tottenham will need to make sure that they do everything in their power to keep Pochettino, ensuring his happiness and diluting the emotional appeal that Juventus is trying to persuade him with.
