More so than any of their competitors Spurs have been dealing with injuries during this latter part of the season.  Here is an update on the situation regarding the biggest players bitten by that particularly ill timed insect of ill intention.

The run in to the end of the season is going to be very difficult for Tottenham Hotspur and they will need all men on deck in order to possibly even win the title.  With the title race coming in to one of the more exciting and unpredictable conclusions that we have seen in a long time this is almost exactly what Spurs would have dreamed for if it had been possible to do something like that.

They have a game in hand and are within spitting distance of first in the table. The only thing that they are going to need to help themselves in the chase is get some of their injured talent back on the field.  The team already has too little depth to sustain the loss of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Ben Davies all at once.  The fact that they have done so for so long is an absurd achievement. But it cannot go on too much longer one would think.

Thus here is the injury report.

Harry Kane: Expected Return February 23rd.

There is no player in world football besides perhaps Lionel Messi who is as integral to his clubs spirit and success as King Kane.  He is the rock, foundation and pride of Tottenham Hotspur and the true envy of almost every single club in Europe.  While he was originally expected to be out until mid march it appears that he is making a remarkable recovery.  He may be lacking match fitness but that fear doesn’t seem to be something that Spurs fans should worry about.  More likely this injury induced layoff has served to rejuvenate the star Englishman.  He hasn’t taken a pure rest in ages.  He came back from carrying the English national team to doing the same thing for Tottenham without any time off.

His natural work ethic and high level of fitness will not have been too effected by his time injured and he has likely done the necessary cardiovascular maintenance to keep himself capable of 75 minutes of football at the minimum.  This return from injury should be celebrated.

Dele Alli: Expected Return March 2nd.

Dele Alli is also going to return from injury sooner than expected.  Though his injury was more serious than Harry Kane’s the younger man appears to have made an equally impressive return to health.  If he can return and offer Spurs another attacking option as well as character in the dressing room it could very possibly help the club chase down City and Liverpool in the title race.

The only issue is that Alli’s injury being a muscular one it could take him slightly more time to get his body back in form and flow than Harry Kane.

Whatever the Spurs medical staff has done to get these two back as quickly as they have they deserve actual medals and raises for their work in support of the cause.

Ben Davies: No News.

This is the bad news.  No news is bad news and regarding Ben Davies’ groin strain their have been no new developments to help him along the way.  It looks likely that Davies’ injury has not responded to treatment as well as the others.
