Tottenham must break the bank to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

There’s very little time left in this current transfer market and Tottenham haven’t done anything to help themselves.  With the injuries piling up and their being knocked out of two domestic cup competitions in quick succession it is important that Daniel Levy and the rest of the management structure find something of note with which to present the supporters.

It simply isn’t acceptable that they are running the club with such a tight fist and yet also asking for continually more and more sacrifice from the supporters.

One simple move in this direction should be doing whatever they have to do to get Adrien Rabiot into the side.  He is on an expiring contract at PSG and could be available for very little money.  A bid of 20 million quid or less should be enough to get him and then a contract befitting his status as a top level European midfielder would be smart.  Between 100 and 150k pounds a week is the sort of thing that the French midfielder is chasing and that Tottenham can handle.

He is a technical midfielder who still possesses the legs to get up and down the pitch as much as is necessary in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.  Eric Dier hasn’t been himself this season and the level of class behind Christian Eriksen is far larger than it should be.  Tottenham simply need to create a larger pool of talent at the club and a player like Rabiot helps move towards that aim.

This would be a strong and opportunistic move that helps the team greatly if they’re able to do it and exactly what the team needs.  Rabiot is a big name who would improve the mood around the club and add some positivity to the air.

It wasn’t so long ago that Tottenham had managed to move themselves back into the title race with a string of great performances. Unfortunately due to some simple bad luck, injuries and results going the wrong way that now seems to be out of the question.  What is a worry now however is things spiraling downwards and getting worse.  The performances in recent weeks have been awful and that is in large part surely down to the attitude around the club at the moment.

A new signing would create some buzz that offsets that and rights the ship for the run in.
