Though Tottenham usually would be looking to make additions to their already threadbare squad apparently manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to let Serge Aurier leave.

Tottenham are reportedly ready to let right-back and Ivory Coast international Serge Aurier leave the side this January.  The right-back’s name has been part of several stories surrounding the North London side this month in conjunction with how the powers that be see the balance and mentality of the side.

Aurier who was a star at the the 2014 World Cup for the Ivory Coast only came to Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and has not covered himself in glory during his time in England.  Usually he is kept out of the side by the terrific Kieran Trippier and it appears that his 80k a week salary is weighing on the minds of many at the club.

In addition to a bit of a salary dump it appears that manager Mauricio Pocchettino is interested in shaking up his squad a little bit.  He is very interested in adding a few new names to the side but knows that he must sell before he can buy.  With Tottenham’s stadium now running over budget and over time it is already hard enough for Spurs to add any new players without gaining some money in the transfer market.

Now it’s true one might be a little bit skeptical of the fact that Tottenham are running out of money.  They haven’t spent heavily in years and they’re playing in the Champions League and the Premier League.  The two most lucrative competitions in world football.  Something doesn’t add up financially and we here at Hotspur HQ will sort that out for you readers.  That’s a fact.

Tottenham supporters deserve more than this at the moment.  Pochettino is too good of a manager to be put through the ringer like this.  The chopping and changing of his squad and being forced to nit pick over salary is something that he wouldn’t be forced to do in any other job in the world that he has been linked with.  Tottenham are pushing the manager out with things like this and more than anything Spurs need to keep Pochettino.

It is rumored that even with his threadbare thin squad Pochettino is going to be putting Mousa Dembele, Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, Fernando Llorente, Michel Vorm and Victor Wanyama all up for sale or loan in addition to Aurier.

Hopefully Spurs soon see that they need to support their genius in residence as opposed to making his job even more difficult than it is to play every match away from home while not spending any money in the richest division in the world in which all of his competition splash 100 million pounds per summer.
