Having looked like legit challengers to Liverpool during the festive period, Tottenham came out flat and were embarrassed 3-1 at home to Wolves.

Spurs started the match in their usual form, creating a flurry of chances in front of the opposition goal.

it was the home side that struck first through talisman Harry Kane. It was an incredible strike as our No. 10 cut inside and hit a rocket strike with is weak foot. Tottenham remained in control for the rest of the half, heading into the break holding a slim 1-0 lead.

However, Spurs completely fell apart in the second half, putting a serious dent into any dreams of a title. Pochettino once again put pressure on his own team with the removal of Dele. While the Englishman is still recovering from his injury against Everton, he was the only player who came out fighting in the second half. His substitute, Lucas Moura had zero impact and it nightmare match for him.

It was the first loss for Spurs against a promoted side since 2012.

In truth it was a day to forget for the entire team as midseason fatigue took its toll. Spurs had no game plan once Wolves equalized through Willy Boly and after that a loss looked inevitable.

Raul Jimenez and Helder Costa finished off the game late for them with Tottenham totally gassed and out of ideas.

The squad is in dire need of reinforcements this January to keep from burning out. Poche made only one change as there was no one on the bench to try and change the outcome. GK Nkoudou surprisingly made the bench but it was obvious he was not going to see any time. Oliver Skipp, while clearly a bright prospect, also cannot be expected to come in and change a game.

If Spurs want to seriously compete for a title soon this is the type of game they must grind out a result in. Having no plan B hurt their chances dearly and many questions must be asked as they go into the transfer window.

The fixtures still come in heavy for Tottenham as they travel to Cardiff in a must win match before playing Tranmere and Chelsea in separate cups.

Better effort and better tactics are needed, but look for Spurs to bounce back and treat this loss as an anomaly.
