Spurs Sloppy Ball Play

If this were a tennis match the story line would be unforced errors. It has been a long time since I have seen Tottenham give the ball away as many times as they did today. Trippier gave the ball away multiple times and one led directly to the second goal. Eriksen played the ball to nobody a couple of times, and Winks played multiple passes of questionable intent. Even the hot playing Moussa Sissoko, less one nice run, looked incredibly tentative on the day leading to several losses of possession.

The Tottenham game was so out of sorts, the deep midfield three were disposed eight times between them, on top of the bad passes. Turnovers, regardless of the sport are bad for success, and it was the sloppy ball playing, leading to turnovers that gave Wolverhampton the opportunities, which they calmly capitalized on.
