With their emphatic Boxing Day victory over Bournemouth Tottenham jumped into 2nd, if even for just a moment, and reminded the rest of the league that their is a third team chasing the title.

Tottenham’s 5-0 victory over Bournemouth shows exactly how good a side they are and just how good of a manager Mauricio Pochettino is.  Bournemouth are by no stretch of the imagination a bad team and to turn them over to such an extent shows just how good a side Tottenham are.
If I’ve said it once I can say it again.  There’s not a single reason why this side shouldn’t be chasing the title this year. They have just as much talent as the other sides that are.  Then there’s also the benefit of the fact that this is a rebuilding year for three of the six title challengers.  There will not be many years in which Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal can all certainly be counted out of the race.  To only have to compete with two other teams for it is a great benefit. Sure those two teams are Liverpool and Manchester City and in the midst of a historic title race but there’s never a season in which chasing the title is easy.
The other thing that Tottenham have going so obviously well for them is that unlike the other title chasers who have players coming in and out of their best form Tottenham have all their canons firing perfectly together.  Harry Kane is red hot and so are Christian Eriksen, Heung Min-Son, Dele Alli and Lucas Moura.
Then finally in addition to that Tottenham have Pochettino at the helm.  He’s one of the best managers in the world and is handling the fact that with their Boxing Day victory Tottenham have jumped into 2ndvery well.  He knows that the most important thing with his young and green side is to keep their feet on the ground.

"‘It is going to be tougher than before now,’ Pochettino insisted. ‘Now you start to show your face and everyone wants to kill you. We must keep humble, working hard.’"

That’s exactly the sort of management that this team needs while it continues to work towards the end of the season.  Yes, they’re outsiders but crazier things have happened in the Premier League.  Tottenham supporters should ask the people in Leicester and then they should allow themselves to believe just as much.
