Report: Spurs and Kane most successful around Christmastime

A report found that Tottenham has been the most successful club in recent history around Christmastime. It also found that Harry Kane has scored the most goals during this time. This bodes well for upcoming fixtures.

The study- which was done by Christmas Tree World– covers the time from mid-December to the New Year. The data is taken from years 2012 to 2017.

As you might imagine, the top 6 clubs lead the pack when it comes to points won during that time period. It is a pleasant surprise, though, that Spurs have won more points than any other club. They received 74 points, narrowly beating out Manchester City with their 73 points.

Somewhat less surprising is that Harry Kane is first when it comes to goals scored. With 17 goals, he has a substantial lead over Romelu Lukaku with his 13. Lukaku is followed by Yaya Toure, Olivier Giroud, and Theo Walcott who each have 11.

Of those 5 players, only Kane is still at the top of his game. He has netted 9 goals so far this season. It was once worried that Kane couldn’t produce in November but those doubts have been put to bed. He has found form early this season and should continue it into 2019.

This track record from Spurs and Harry Kane bodes well for their chances of catching Liverpool and Manchester City. Tottenham have a relatively easy set of fixtures in the coming weeks and should make great strides in the Premier League.

Between now and the end of New Year’s Day, Spurs will face Burnley, Everton, Bournemouth, Wolves, and Cardiff. It is not too far-fetched to say that they could come on top in all of these games and win a jackpot of 15 points in that time. We might be getting too far ahead of ourselves but Tottenham and Harry Kane’s Christmastime history- coupled with an easy set of fixtures- could put them in first place by early January.
