Tottenham Hotspur projected lineup vs Leicester City
By Zaph Hutson
Tottenham travel to King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City later today. While Spurs look to be the stronger side, they have been rocked by injuries.
Goalkeeper
You will find Hugo Lloris between the sticks tonight. He is in great form and continues to be one of Tottenham’s best players. We gave the World Cup winning keeper a 9/10 rating for his performance against Southampton on Wednesday. He should have an easier job than usual against the Foxes because Jamie Vardy is out for the match.
Defenders
Tottenham’s back line has been hit by injuries more than any other part of the club. Instead of Trippier on the right, you will find Serge Aurier. Even though Foyth put on a great performance against Southampton, he too is out. That is why Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will serve as center backs. History shows that Pochettino likes to trade his left backs pretty consistently. That is why Ben Davies will be in that position.
Midfielders
As one of the central defensive midfielders you will see the well-rested Moussa Sissoko. Next to him you will either find Harry Winks or Eric Dier. This is a toss-up but we will go with Winks since Dier has been used a lot more lately and will likely be given a rest against Leicester. Like Sissoko, Dele Alli came in later in the last match so look for him to get the starting job. Even when he was on the pitch, he seemed to be conserving his energy so he should be an important part of the Tottenham attack tonight.
Forwards
Even though Harry Kane will have played 3 games in a little more than a week’s time, he will lead the charge from the beginning. After all, he is always on the hunt for the Golden Boot. Joined alongside him will be Heung-Min Son. Son has found an impressive run of form and hopefully will carry it through today and against Barcelona.
Lucas Moura will complete the three-pronged attack. Incidentally, all three- Kane, Son, and Moura, scored against Southampton. Pochettino should let the good times roll and let these three get into a rhythm.
