Who do Spurs need to add in January to chase the title in May?

Without adding anyone during the summer transfer window Tottenham obviously felt the weight of the World Cup at the beginning of the season.  With January around the corner have they learned their lesson?

Tottenham should add players in January the question is in which area do they need the most help and then who should they add?

I have suggested on an occasion before that Tottenham could do most of their transfer business easily within the Bosman-market but if they were going to spend money who would be the best? The team has an obvious need at left back and in central midfield. With the options in central midfield heavily outweighing those at left back in the Bosman market that then points to the fact that Tottenham’s big January buy should be a left-back.

Another reason Tottenham should make a big signing in January will be a sort of apology to the fans for how poorly the stadium transition was handled.  No club in England has handled anything as laughably poorly as Tottenham have handled this transition and amendments are owed.  Even if just for the fact that the club slipped into exactly all of the poor things that the detractors say.  Come January though hopefully, Spurs will be in the new stadium and they can start building a proper bit of momentum.

A big signing could help with that.

Layvin Kurazawa could very well be that signing.  He like many suffers from the fact that PSG have too many expensive players and not enough room to play them the amount that they should.  With Dele Alli and Moura both likey to cut in from the left the rampaging left-back could easily find room further up the field for Spurs.  This is something he’s excellent at and is the only left-back to boast the unbelievable feat of scoring a hat-trick in Champions League history.

At a relatively normal price Tottenham could improve the team, give the supporters something to cheer for and save money for the summer business.  There’s no reason not to make a move like this.
