The Argentine national football team has chosen two Tottenham players for matches this month. These are Erik Lamela and Juan Marcos Foyth. Neither player represented his country in the 2018 World Cup.

Argentina will face Mexico in a double-header of friendlies later this month. Their list of called-up players includes Tottenham’s Lamela and Foyth. It seems to be more of a trial for these two since you don’t see names like Messi or Di Maria on the list.

Erik Lamela

The 26 year old has impressed this year. Lamela provides an attacking threat whenever he goes on the pitch for Spurs. Even though he has only played one full Premier League game so far this season, he has contributed 3 goals and an assist.

On Monday, Lamela was positioned perfectly to give Tottenham the tie but sailed the ball over the post. Hopefully he will get more playing time and practice with Argentina.
