Kane, Spurs Handle Their Business versus Huddersfield Town
By Aaron Coe
A Harry Kane brace, coming from an unusual approach from Spurs was enough for Tottenham to take down Huddersfield in the Premier League.
On a windy day, facing an aggressive team with a boisterous crowd, an alternative approach from Maurico Pochettino and Spurs won the day at Huddersfield Town behind a Harry Kane double. A first-half which saw Spurs concede most of the possession, yet found the best chances and two goals, was followed by an average second half, where Spurs controlled most of the possession and saw the game out. So, what happened and what can we take away from Spurs 3 win on the trot following a similar number of losses?
Spurs Line-up
After the night off in the Carabao Cup midweek, Kieran Trippier, Jan Vertongen, and Danny Rose were all back in the starting line-up in the back. They joined Toby Alderweireld and Davison Sanchez in a back 5 for Spurs. The double-pivot of Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier sat in front of those 5 and then up field were three attackers, Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, and Lucas Moura across the middle.
Knowing we were without Christian Eriksen, it was a surprise not to see either of Dele Alli or Erik Lamela in the starting line-up in the #9 role. However, Lamela never made it off the bench and Dele wasn’t even on the bench, after his hometown exertion mid-week. It was probably good all three of these players got to sit out with Barcelona coming on Wednesday in the Champions League.
