Tottenham have underserved their supporters with the way this transfer window has unfolded whether they sign Grealish or not.

As of the moment of this publication, Tottenham have not signed a single player during this transfer window.  They’ve looked at several but haven’t actually made a single move. There’s still the possibility of a late signing of Jack Grealish but an expensive Championship star isn’t exactly the sort of move that wins Premier Leagues.

Tottenham need to smarten up about their business. They should be recognizing the position that they’re in and how advantageous it is.  They’re already closer to winning the league than they have been in years.  After City and Liverpool, they’re the closest of the big six and need to be more mercurial in their dealings.

More from Tottenham News

Chelsea have done their now-usual embarrassing flopping around this window and compensated for it by overpaying like a man with six hummers for his embarrassing personal issues.  Manchester United are tearing themselves apart in very classic Jose Mourinho fashion.  Tottenham have none of the issues of either of those two and though Arsenal are now finally moving in the right direction following the departure of Arsene Wenger it is going to be a little bit before they fully arrive again.

Tottenham’s position at the moment is too strong for this sort of transfer wackiness to be allowed to occur.  The fact that Grealish is the only target they’ve even be close to is a massive issue within the club.  They need a more dangerous right winger like Leon Bailey and a defensive midfielder who can pass the ball.  This is exactly the sort of nearly attitude that has kept them from winning the league for such a preposterous amount of time.

To have an academy and support as strong as they do coupled with a magnificent new stadium and a role as one of London’s club with a strong manager nearly isn’t good enough.  It’s time for Tottenham to want more. More, more, and then more again. That is what they should be chasing as opposed to what they’re doing now.
